Nu'uanu Pali Lookout
The scenic Pali Lookout is a must-visit attraction in Oahu, Hawaii. Our guided tour takes visitors on a scenic drive through the winding mountain roads, offering breathtaking views of lush greenery and panoramic landscapes. Visitors are informed about the history and significance of the Nu’uanu Pali Lookout, including the famous battle that took place on the site between the forces of King Kamehameha and the warriors of Maui. Upon reaching the lookout, visitors can witness the magnificent views of the Windward Coast from the Pali Lookout, which is 1200 feet above sea level. The tour also allows time for visitors to capture memorable pictures and purchase souvenirs showcasing the beauty of the Nu’uanu Pali Lookout.
Byodo-In Temple
The tour then takes guests to Byodo-In Temple, a stunning temple located in the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park in Oahu. This temple is a replica of a 900-year-old Buddhist temple in Uji, Japan, and stands as a symbol of peace and harmony. The temple features traditional Japanese beautifully landscaped gardens, koi ponds, feeding areas, and a large meditation hall. The temple’s main attraction is the large golden statue of the Buddha, which stands at almost 9 feet tall. Guests can take part in a traditional ringing of the peace bell, which weighs three tons and is considered one of the largest working temple bells in the world. Visitors can learn about the history of the temple and its significance in promoting world peace. Byodo-In is a must-see destination for those interested in Japanese culture, Buddhism, and finding inner peace.
Tropical Farms
After exploring Oahu’s beautiful countryside, the tour takes you to Tropical Farms, a renowned macadamia nut farm. As you arrive, you can take a break and stretch your legs in the picturesque orchards, and indulge in an array of tropical-flavored macadamia nuts. The farm is famous for producing the freshest macadamia nuts and macadamia nut goodies, including macadamia nut coffee, macadamia nut brittle, and macadamia nut honey. You’ll get a chance to learn about the history of the farm and the cultivation of macadamia nuts, and perhaps even witness the harvesting process. Visiting Tropical Farms is a wonderful opportunity to embrace Hawai’i’s agricultural heritage and taste some of the island’s most delicious treats.
Lunch Stop
During the tour, there will be a break for a lunch stop, which is included as part of the tour package.
Monday-Saturdays our lunch stop is at Pounders, a popular eatery at the Polynesian cultural Center. Sunday lunch is provided by Tanaka’s Kahuku Shrimp, a legendary north shore staple.
The lunch stop is an ideal opportunity for tour participants to recharge, refresh and refuel before continuing with the rest of the tour. The provided lunch ensures that participants do not have to worry about finding a suitable restaurant or packing their own lunch, and can instead focus on enjoying the tour and the company of their fellow travelers.
Waimea Valley
After a picturesque drive along the North Shore of Oahu, the tour makes a stop at the stunning Waimea Valley. Its lush tropical gardens, waterfalls, and rich cultural history make it a perfect destination for visitors. The valley is said to have been inhabited for over 700 years, and a visit to the Hawaiian cultural center provides insight into the traditions and way of life of the island’s native people. Visitors can take a leisurely stroll through the botanical gardens while admiring the exotic plants, or they can take a refreshing dip in the Waimea Falls. Anyone who chooses to do so should bring a change of clothes, as getting wet is guaranteed. Waimea Valley is a beautiful and historic place that shouldn’t be missed on any trip to Oahu.
Dole Plantation
The final stop of the tour is the Dole Plantation, which is a must-visit place for anyone who loves pineapples. This plantation provides a fun and educational experience for visitors of all ages. Along with the scenic beauty of the plantation, visitors can learn about the history of Dole and the pineapple industry through interactive exhibits and displays. Attractions include the Pineapple Garden Maze, which is recognized as the world’s largest maze; the Pineapple Express train ride that takes you on a scenic tour of the plantation; and the Plantation Grille where visitors can enjoy a variety of pineapple-infused dishes.
